About this Event
Some walks are about exercise. Some are about scenery.
This one is about what happens when you stop moving long enough to actually see.
See What Nature Is Saying is a guided photography walk through the Maple Woods Trail at McDowell Grove Forest Preserve - where slowing down isn't optional, it's the whole point.
Using your phone or any camera you own, you'll learn to see with what I call your soul's eye: noticing what calls to you, what you keep returning to, what you almost walked past. Because what you photograph is never really about the subject.
It's always been about you.
Woven through our time together is the Tree of Life — a timeless framework that unites 40+ spiritual traditions, describing how we navigate being a soul in human form. You don't need to know anything about it. You just need to be willing to look.
You'll walk away with:
→ A new way of seeing Nature — and yourself — that goes anywhere you go
→ A felt sense of what it actually means to be present
→ Images that mean something
→ A few hours that were completely yours
This walk is for you if:
✓ You're spiritually curious and done with dogma telling you how to connect
✓ You love Nature and want to go deeper than a Saturday stroll
✓ You've been feeling disconnected and can't quite name why
✓ You want to try photography but think you're "not creative enough"
This walk is NOT for you if:
✗ You want technical camera instruction
✗ You need high energy and a fast pace
✗ Slowing down sounds like punishment
