Eglė Šimėnaitėn teos See Through When Gone on lempeä neuvottelu todellisuudesta, jossa rajaa luonnollisen ja epäluonnollisen välillä venytetään paikoin jopa humoristisesti yliluonnollisen puolelle. Teos käyttää materiaalinaan valoa, väriä, muotoa ja ulkotilan eri pinnoille videomäpättyjä tekstuureja ja projisointeja. Lämpimät värit ja luonnonelementit yhdistyvät entisen rakennuksen tiiviiseen ääriviivaan, kun Šimėnaitė muokkaa nähtävää todellisuutta.See Through When Gone on kunnianosoitus surrealististen kuvataiteilijoiden, sci-fi-kirjailijoiden ja toismaailmallisten elokuvantekijöiden luomuksille.

Eglė Šimėnaitė's work See Through When Gone is a gentle negotiation of reality and other-than-reality, where the boundary between the natural and the unnatural is stretched, at times humorously, towards the supernatural. The piece uses light, color, shape and both video-mapped textures and projections on various outdoor surfaces as its materials. Warm colors and natural elements blend with the compact outline of a former building as Šimėnaitė reshapes the visible reality.
See Through When Gone is a tribute to the creations of surrealist visual artists, sci-fi writers, and otherworldly filmmakers. It sprinkles admiration and gratitude towards Pink Floyd's cover art and David Bowie's life lessons.
The work imagines different landscapes, worlds, and realities. It guides us to understand the temporality and transience of thoughts, memories, imagination, and dreams. The performance allows us to marvel at the ordinary. Through a daydream becoming a nighflow, the audiences are invited to calm down into the wonderous conversations with themselves.
