Seduced by the Kiss of Rope: The Art of Intimacy Through Restraint

This is an exciting and different type of Shibari workshop coming to Portland!

This course is more than just tying someone up, it’s about learning the subtleties of being present with one another, building anticipation, flow, and trance states, through movement, dance, and rope. Ultimately creating a deeply satisfying intimate experience.

Learn to take your partner on a creative journey of seduction with rope. Using connection, presence, rope and body handling skills to create an experience that escalates the senses. The rope will become an extension of touch, attunement, and rhythm, blending elements of dance, somatic movement/healing, and martial arts. 

There will be guidance on how to build enhanced communication and emotional safety, as well as essential skills for safe and effective tying.

You’ll be taught how to use the rope as a vehicle, but the real lesson is in how you use yourself, your body, and your presence to bring your partner into a seductive trance of anticipated desire.

Come with your partner, or a friend and learn the techniques to take back home. Whether you are brand new to Shibari or looking to deepen your current practice, this workshop is for you.  Create exciting curiosity and mystery, which as Esther Perel says is one of the greatest ways to spark desire again in long term couples!

• No previous rope experience necessary.

• We provide the rope for you to practice with.

• Come dressed comfortably, to tie and be tied.

• Those who will be tied should wear tight-fitting, comfortable clothes (loose stuff gets in the way). People often wear snug yoga or workout apparel.

• If you have a yoga mat with a blanket or sheepskin, please bring one — it makes sitting or lying in the space more comfortable.
