After assisting with funerals for a year at Seattle's largest conventional funeral home and memorial park, she took a half-time role at , the pioneers of human composting, at the end of 2022. Laura is also a coach and an artist; her work and her projects concern personal narratives, brand storytelling, human connection, and death and grief awareness.
