Sruti | Sumesh - two young masters of the Carnatic tradition join forces for their first US tour as a duo. They play an intimate yet electrifying set. In their musical dialogue, traditional melodies meet contemporary grooves and spontaneous improvisation. Sumesh (mrdangam--two-headed Carnatic drum) is a visiting artist from Chennai in South India, and Sruti (Carnatic violin) was raised as a diaspora kid in the Bay Area.
