Secondhand September Swap at Clover Road BrewingWe’re bringing a hyper-local, community-driven event to the Clover Road taproom: the Secondhand September Clothing Swap. Just in time for back-to-school swapping!
How it works:
Think of it like those little free library houses you see in neighborhoods, but for clothes! Bring clean, gently used pieces you’d be happy to share with a neighbor, and take home something new-to-you in return. We’ll have men’s, women’s and children's clothing in a variety of sizes, so everyone has something to browse.
There’s no minimum or maximum for what you bring, but please leave the big garbage bags at home, this isn’t a donation drive. We want everyone to engage, connect, and find treasures together! Everything should be in good condition so the experience is fun and worthwhile for all.
Onsite Mending & Sewing:
We’ll also be offering free mending lessons and services! Have something you’ve been wanting to hem or learn how to patch onto your back-to-school bag? Bring it along and we’ll show you how while you browse and swap.
Why join?
- A casual, social and affordable way to refresh your wardrobe.
- A sustainable alternative to shopping new.
- A chance to learn basic sewing and mending skills.
- A way to give back! Any leftover clothing will be donated to Abby’s House in Worcester, supporting local women and children.
Cost: $10 to participate. We know it’s not free, but ten bucks is less than a thrift store T-shirt and it keeps the swap running smoothly!
When: Sunday, September 14th, 1–5 PM
Where: Clover Road Brewing, 312 Main St., Hudson
#SecondhandSeptember is a global movement that encourages people to choose preloved clothing instead of new for the month, helping reduce waste and cut back on the demand for fast fashion. Our swaps have been a fun, social way to take part in this movement since 2020. They started as a safe way to connect with neighbors during COVID—an outdoor, socially distanced event where people could shop sustainably while still interacting safely. As the world began to open up, breweries became a natural venue for the swap, offering a relaxed, social setting to continue the tradition.
Come swap clothes, learn a few sewing tricks, share a beer, and connect with your community!
