About this Event

The workshop "Second Life: Art and Recycling", organized by Les Artistes de la Cité (https://linktr.ee/ciup.artists), led by the artist Kraïem, will take place in two painting sessions: on April 20th and 21st at the Maison des étudiants Canadien. An exhibition of creations will take place during the Low-Tech festival organized by CiLoVi, on April 27th, 2024, at the Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris, on the Grande Pelouse.

The main idea is to repurpose old objects and use them as canvases for artistic creations, with a focus on creative recycling. We will explore mixed techniques such as drawing, painting, and collage using various mediums such as acrylic, pens, markers, old magazines, and any object destined to be discarded (old spoons, plates, fabric, etc.).

WHO IS KRAIEM

The artist, originally from Sousse, Tunisia, expanded his horizons by moving to Paris in 2016 after studying interior architecture at the Institute of Fine Arts in Tunisia. Since the beginning of the lockdown in March 2020, he has explored his passion for painting, marking the beginning of his "Static Journey."

Through his canvases, he seeks to translate a profound connection between the body and the soul, exploring the inner landscapes of his most intimate emotions and reflections.

His painting becomes an invitation to delve into the depths of the human soul, a way to transcend physical limits to express the inexpressible through colors and forms.

WHO ARE “LES ARTISTES DE LA CITÉ”

They organize free painting workshops every Sunday, exhibitions, and other cultural events fostering exchange and artistic development, while promoting the values of the Cité Internationale Charter.

WHO ARE CILOVI
