Michael Brophy of Brophy Professional Genealogy and Heir Searching will present a program on the Orphan Trains which operated from 1854 until 1929. During this period over 200,000 children were transported from New York to the Midwest and beyond. Come learn about this unusual practice - how it began, the process and stories from Orphan Train riders. The program is free and open to the public.
Michael Brophy is a professional genealogical researcher, heir search specialist, and lecturer. He has conducted research for Who Do You Think You Are and Ancestry.com.
Members of the Seaside Social Club will conduct a business meeting at 6:30. All women of the community are welcome to join. Dues are $20 for the year.
