About this Event
On Saturday 4th April, we'll be at Seaham Hall Beach for a Seashore Safari!
Join us from 10am until 1pm, where we will begin our exploration of our marine world with some fun family friendly rock-pooling, before combing the beach in search of the elusive mermaids purse, which in fact are egg cases of sharks, skates and rays!
Any empty shark or ray eggcases that we do find will be collected, identified, recorded and reported to The Shark Trust’s Great Eggcase Hunt’s citizen science project. For more info please see: Shark Trust Great Eggcase Hunt
This event is suitable for ages 7+. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Booking is essential.
Please wear clothing suitable for the outdoors and comfortable, sturdy footwear, as the rocky shore can be very slippery. You may wish to bring a drink, hat and sunscreen.
Meet on the grass by the car park at 10am, ///lifts.abode.noon, however, if you join us late, just follow the coastal path down the steps to the beach and come find us.
There is a Pay and Display car park, and toilet facilities at the nearby café.
