Search Confidence

From adequately staffed to understaffed, one cornerstone of firefighting is the search. It

is a task completed on every fireground and is often initiated by one individual, whether

that is coming off the truck company or after getting the initial line in place. Search

Confidence is geared to open the eyes of the firefighter and have a better

understanding of building layout and prioritizing the search. This course aims to gain a

deeper understanding! of how firefighters perform tasks in limited visibility, with the goal

of developing: framework and methodology to enhance search efficiency. Search

Confidence will cover the course topics of building construction, building layout, and

victim statistics as it relates to the fire service.
