Waxin' Melodic Under a Big Moon in June, is a night packed, with songs and stories from three great island based talents. The evening's show is based on a "songwriter in the round" style performing ensemble; inspired by the once great Canadian group known as Lunch at Allen's.This season's line up consists of nationally award winning singer/songwriters including Sean Hogan, Sue Medley, and the Comox Valley's young blood dynamo singer/guitarist Christy Vanden. These artists join forces to present a fun, warm and memorable night of story and song.
This concert event has a little extra patriotic punch again this year, given the spirit of the times we're living through with the U.S. The trio will pay home harvested homage, not only through their own self-penned and often critically acclaimed, material, and by performing a few gemstones from Canadian legends as well.
Where have they been what have done besides Juno, multiple CCMA, West Coast Music Awards and recent SOCAN wins, Sue Medley, Sean Hogan and Christy Vanden are coming to town to lift you up with spirited great music from their careers, in a night you'll not soon forget.
Last year says Hogan ( the recently informed multiple SOCAN #1 song winner,) ~ we helped the food bank of Campbell River celebrate their 40th anniversary with this theatre event concert and food raiser the second night, plus an evening last summer that raised the roof in Comox at 40 Knots vineyard which got us invited back this year, we're on to something warmly received and deeply needed in these times in Canada says Hogan. We hope to share this feeling of giving back and community entertainment with the people in Port Alberni in late June, under that waxin' Melodic full moon. Join us, won't you?
