Join this course to practice the skills you learned our Sea Kayak Fundamentals course and build on them. This Part II course is designed to give students who have already taken Part I a chance to refine what they learned and learn important skills like triangulation and using ranges to make crossings. The course will prepare students to navigate in fog and other low-visibility conditions, and to use the resources and technology at their disposal to track where they are going, where they have been and where they are on the water. The cost of using a kayak is included in the price, though you are also welcome to use your own. Students are asked to bring a handheld compass and a nautical chart of Casco Bay. These items are also available for purchase at Portland Paddle. (Sharing with one other person is okay).
