About this Event
Join us at the Bronx Documentary Center for a screening of All the Ladies Say, the groundbreaking Bgirl documentary inspired by We B*Girlz, the iconic photobook by Martha Cooper. Directed by internationally acclaimed veteran Bgirl Rokafella, the film spotlights female breakdancers across the United States, including Aiko, Baby Love, Beta, Lady Champ, Severe, and Vendetta, while exploring themes of femininity, motherhood, and representation in Hip-hop culture.
A post-screening conversation with Rokafella, film subject Lady Champ, and Martha Cooper will follow, with audience members invited to ask questions and join the discussion. The evening will also feature dance demos by Bgirl Mantis and G Clef.
Produced by Full Circle Productions, the documentary features music by Kwikstep and editing by Melissa Ulto. Special thanks to Third World Newsreel.
