About this Event
Holloway is a deeply moving and transformational documentary exploring women's trauma and the immense human capacity for recovery.
Holloway follows six women as they return to the now abandoned HMP Holloway to take part in a women’s circle. Sharing some of the most intimate experiences of their lives, they each unravel what led them to Pr*son, building an eye-opening portrait of failing systems and trauma, while discovering their extraordinary capacity to heal through sisterhood.
Following the screening, there will be a panel session hosted by Claire Burton (Head of Community Services, LAT) with Professor Karen Harrison (University of Lincoln), Jo Davison (Chief Executive, Lincolnshire OPCC), Kelly Barton (Women's Strategic Lead for East Midlands Probation), and women with experience of the justice system.
If you have a question to ask of the panel, please share it with us beforehand by emailing [email protected]
We warmly welcome you to join us on Wednesday 20th May.
The screening of Holloway is free to attend. A suggested donation of £5 towards Women RISE would however be appreciated. A receipt can be provided on request. LAT introduced Women RISE, the first Women's Centre in Lincolnshire for women and girls involved in, or at risk of becoming involved in, the criminal justice system, in 2023. Women RISE now supports women and girls across the county and is funded solely by grants and donations.
Cold refreshments will be available during the screening. You are welcome to bring a hot drink if you prefer.
Please advise us of any access requirements.
