About Ani Di Franco

Ani DiFranco, pioneering indie musician and feminist icon, founded her own record label, Righteous Babe Records, in 1990, a move that established her as a DIY trailblazer. Known for her genre-spanning music, DiFranco has collaborated with artists from Utah Phillips to Prince. She’s celebrated for both her musical innovation and her strong political voice, with songs addressing social justice, reproductive rights, and racial inequality.

Her recent work includes a Broadway role in Hadestown, a 25th-anniversary reissue of Little Plastic Castle, and the upcoming album Unprecedented Sh!t. She is the co-author of . A tireless activist, she has championed voter registration, supported progressive causes, and inspired generations with her independence and fierce dedication to her ideals. DiFranco’s impact extends far beyond music, earning her multiple awards and recognition from feminist and LGBTQ+ communities alike.

  • Masks required and provided.
  • If you need to reserve a seat for accessibility reasons, email [email protected].
  • We will begin seating people at 6:30pm ET. Seating is limited & RSVP-ing does not reserve/ensure you will get a seat, so come early to grab a seat!
  • $5-$10 suggested donation, no one turned away for lack of funds!
  • As a reminder: If you are not feeling well, please do not come to the event.

Charis has both stairs and an elongated ramp at the entrance. Accessible parking is to the left of the building. Charis Books is a fully wheelchair accessible space with on site van accessible parking, two ramps, and additional overflow accessible parking nearby. Most of our shelves are on wheels and can be moved to provide additional access. The insides are all level and flat with ramps to access various areas of the space. Our bathrooms are wheelchair accessible and gender neutral with motion activated fixtures. Both bathrooms have wheelchair accessible baby changing tables. Our directional signs are written in braille.
