About this Event
A 'scratch night' is where a writer or performer presents a rough draft of a project they've been working on to a live audience, and receives feedback...
So here's another thrilling line-up of artists to scratch some creative itches at the 3rd edition of Scratch Berlin, Berlin's first and only scratch night!
We'll begin with the sharings followed by a short break, then re-gather for the audience feedback and creative conversations. Come watch, listen and opine!
Presenting:
Grace Evangeline with: The Bath
Grace is a theatre/filmmaker whose work delves into themes of ecology, feminism, and healing, often through the lens of magical realism. 'The Bath' is a short horror story about a woman who finally finds her perfect apartment in Berlin, only to discover the bathtub is possessed by a demon. She's turning it into a performance, fusing storytelling, physical theatre and live synth soundscapes.
Sam Hunter with: No Jews Just Shoes
Sam Hunter is a director and playwright concerned with themes of grief and powerlessness. His recent work has focused on Jewish life in contemporary Germany. His screenplay being presented tonight, 'No Jews Just Shoes', is about an American Jew who goes to the Jewish Museum in Berlin and encounters the absurd realities of “Memory Culture."
