Scott Strickland is an Americana-Soul singer-songwriter originally from Houston, Texas, with roots in Nacogdoches, who relocated to Austin around 2013 and has since become one of the city’s most dynamic performers. Previously working in retail and teaching filmmaking across colleges in Waco and San Antonio, he turned to music full-time during the pandemic - a career pivot that marked the beginning of his deeply personal, creative journey.
Strickland's debut self-titled LP features the song “L.A.”, which the Austin-American Statesman hailed as “the best video, and song, to come out of Austin” in early 2022. His music blends rock, pop, and folk influences, characterized by introspection, vulnerability, and lush string arrangements that complement his bright, soulful voice.
His most recent project, Strings Attached: The 1500 Sessions, was recorded in Austin’s 1500 Distribution Hall and showcases a stripped-down, emotive sound highlighted by acoustic strings and soulful stillness.
Scott’s live performances are known for their magnetic intensity and emotional resonance, with appearances at venues like ACL Live at the Moody Theater and festivals such as Blues on the Green, as well as touring regionally across the U.S. and internationally.
