Your insights and leadership are vital as we shape the next chapter of Scotland’s energy future.
About this Event

Scotland stands at a pivotal juncture in its journey toward a climate-friendly, affordable, and resilient energy system by 2045. The nation’s Just Transition plan—anchored in renewable energy growth and strategic demand reduction through energy efficiency—offers a bold vision for a net-zero future. However, the path forward is complex.

As we approach the 2026 Scottish Parliamentary election, the political landscape is rapidly evolving. Key debates around energy security, the role of oil and gas, infrastructure investment, and national security policy are intensifying. The decisions made in the coming months will have profound implications for the renewable energy and infrastructure sectors, shaping policy, investment flows, and the pace of Scotland’s low-carbon transition.

We are pleased to invite you to hear from our experiences panel to debate these issues:

  • Dan McGrail GB Energy CEO
  • Vanya Kretschmar VP Wood MacKenzie
  • Sandy Trust Bailey Gifford Director of Sustainability Risk
  • Michael Watson Partner and Head of Climate and Sustainability Advisory Pinsent Masons
  • Louisa McDonnell Scotland Director Business in the Community and Just Transition Commissioner

The session will be chaired by ELP alumni Rebecca Hackett and Yvonne Irwin.
