Science Workshop at The Wakes - Children's Summer Holiday Activities
An action packed day with three fun science workshops in one session!
Snotty Science - The body is under attack from dangerous germs and we must protect it! We will surprise you by how easy germs can be spread, and find out about this season’s must have mucus and how it protects us from the dangerous invaders all around us. Just in case, take some extra home with you as well!!!
Detective science - Can you use science to discover the mystery of the Whodunnit? This fun science workshop will use scientific techniques to solve crimes. From finger prints to chromatography and chemical testing of mystery substances. We will slowly eliminate our funny faced suspects through the process of elimination.
Earth rocks - In this workshop we look at the different types of rocks, learn how fold mountains are formed andall about the earth. We do a fun experiment with a Hot Wax volcano to show how the pressures of the hot magma can push through the Earth’s crust and create an underwater volcano. Each child gets to make and hold their own earth.
A nutritious lunch will also be included.
Please note: Parents/ carers are required to stay with their child(ren) throughout the session.
