DAVD VALENTINE -- grew up enjoying the mountains and deserts of Utah. In the year 2000, Davd discovered the fascinating field of cultural astronomy from his teacher and mentor Von Del Chamberlain. Since this pivotal moment in his life, Davd has embarked on an enduring mission, seeking to explore the mysteries of cultural astronomy sites around the world. His adventures have led him to many locations including Ulugh Beg's observatory in Uzbekistan, the Beijing Ancient Observatory in China, Jai Sing II's Jantar Mantar in India, a plethora of locations in the Four Corners region of the USA, and dozens of stone circles in the British Isles. This ongoing journey to understand the universal importance of the heavens and its connection to humanity through the millennia has inspired Davd to create a documentary film series entitled Axis Mundi.
Since 2009, Davd and co-collaborator Chloe Valentine have traveled to explore connections between the celestial and terrestrial realms. Each equinox and solstice, they journey to document various sites of archaeoastronomical importance. They travel through time and space seeking to capture specific celestial events around the globe. Davd specializes in time-lapse photography, and Chloe calculates and navigates these expeditions.
