Science Knight Out Tenth Edition: A Decade of Building Oregon's Future

ABOUT THE EVENT

Our 2026 Science Knight Out talk, "A Decade of Building Oregon's Future," celebrates a decade of progress at the Knight Campus. Hear from bioengineering faculty and entrepreneurs who are turning cutting-edge research into life-changing products, growing Oregon's biotech economy, and training tomorrow's STEM workforce. There will be a community networking opportunity at 5:00pm before the lecture begins at 6:00pm.

• 6:00 - 7:30 pm Science Knight Out Lecture (Jaqua Concert Hall)

EVENT VENUE AND PARKING

The John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts is located on the corner of East Broadway & High Street in downtown Eugene. Following the Shedd's completed North Entrance remodel, attendees are now to enter through the main ticketing office entrance (off High Street). Entrances off of Broadway will not be accessible for this event. Look for directional signage!

Thanks to a special rental agreement between The Shedd and Lane County, Shedd patrons, students, staff and performers are able to park FREE Monday-Friday after 5pm and all-day Saturday and Sunday in the Pearl Street Parking Lot directly north of The Shedd across 8th Ave. Enter the lot on either 7th or Pearl Street. The Shedd event parking lot (off of High Street) and nearby meter parking are also available on a first-come basis.

Info: Starting at 5:00 pm, early arrivals are welcome to join us in The Shedd's Nill Club Room prior to the lecture for an informal community networking opportunity. Beverages and cookies will be available for purchase. Doors to the lecture hall will open at 5:40 pm. Legal ID is required for alcoholic beverages.

Info: Jaqua Concert Hall doors open at 5:40 pm. Robert Guldberg, Knight Campus Vice President and Robert and Leona DeArmond Executive Director, will provide opening remarks leading up to the main lecture, followed by a moderated Q&A opportunity.
