About this Event
Our speaker this month is Jane Memmott, Professor of Ecology at the University of Bristol and Director of the Bristol Botanic Garden.
Professor Memmott is one of the UK’s leading ecologists, whose research explores how environmental change affects ecosystems — from pollinators and food systems to cities and restored landscapes. In this talk, she will show how botanic gardens are no longer just places of beauty, but active scientific institutions playing a vital role in conservation, and biodiversity protection.
She will also discuss emerging evidence that botanic gardens can improve mental health and wellbeing — an increasingly important issue in a changing world.
