The Schmidt Vocal Competition encourages young artists to pursue their passion in the vocal arts, providing opportunities and support to help inspire future generations of singers. High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors perform and participate in master classes with some of today's most renowned vocal professionals. Each year, Schmidt Vocal Arts gives away over $625,000 in cash awards and scholarships.Schmidt Competition participants have gone on to gain entrance into the world’s finest music schools and include winners of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the George London Competition, the National Association of Teachers of Singing Artist Awards Competition, Classical Singer, and the National Opera Association Award.
