About this Event
Our exclusive "Scented Stories" event provides an opportunity for attendees to craft their own unique marble scented candle and connect with fellow readers. Each guest will also receive a carefully chosen mystery novel tailored to their individual reading preferences and profile.
More on the experience:
We start with an exploration of scents where you are can select your pick of 2 or 3 fragrances to blend together in order to create your own signature scents. This is followed by the basics of candle making where we calculate oil to wax ratios in which we also discuss the properties of our sustainable and non-toxic Coconut Apricot Wax and Luxury Fragrance Oils.
We then get to the exciting part where you get to choose your design, be it a solid color candle in 7 color options or a multi-color marbled design. This part is completely DIY so you can let your creativity lead you. Our experienced host(s) will assist you when you need it!
Tickets are priced at HKD 600, which includes a Hiraya Scent & Co candle with one complimentary drink(tea or a glass of wine) and a mystery book gift. We are also committed to donating 10% of all ticket proceeds directly to EmpowerU.

gentle books is a secondhand bookshop with a vision to build a circular book economy, nurture a community of readers in Hong Kong, and keep books out of landfill. A women-led social enterprise founded by book-lovers, gentle books accepts English-language book donations with the aim of rehoming them via reselling or distribution to other secondhand bookshops, charity organisations, recycling and upcycling. gentle books commits 20% of its profits to literacy and education-based NGOs.
