UK Sniffer Dog Bronze Level Beginner Workshop 2 x 2hr sessions (with breaks for the dogs)

Scent detection (searching for specific scent) can be done by any dog of any age or breed. It’s also brilliant for less confident or nervous dogs as it’s a brilliant way for them to be good at something and be rewarded as it’s something they are naturally good at. Scentwork helps them focus as well as builds engagement with you as it’s an activity you do together.
In this course you will learn how to teach your dog the important foundations for :
- Scent recognition (knowing what to search for )
- Searching
- Infocation (how they tell you once they find the scent)
Sniffing is a calming activity for dogs and provides mental stimulation leading to calmer more relaxed dogs especially after a scent work session and can be done at home easily between sessions with no expensive kit needed to get started…. Think of it as mindfulness for dogs!
Any dog can do it and I’ve never met a dog that didn’t enjoy it plus it’s great fun for their humans too as you get to be part of them discovering a whole new world.
