Snyder County Coalition 4 Kids invites the public to attend its 2025 Annual December Conference highlighting the work of the Coalition around priorities focused on youth development in Snyder County, PA.
The SCC4K annual conference will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 in the Stretansky Concert Hall of the Cunningham Center at Susquehanna University from 8:00 AM - 12:00noon (followed by a free luncheon). Doors open at 7:45AM.
The event will include speakers, updates on the Coalition, and a free networking lunch. The conference is free of charge and open to the public. Any additional conference and speaker details will become available on Facebook @SCC4Kids.
Limited same day registration will be available at the event on December 15th from 7:45-8:15am. Pre-registration is encouraged & appreciated.

8:15 – 10:15 am: HEATHER SHNYDER, Training Specialist at Transitions of PA, Lewisburg, Pennsylvania
“Knowing Your Role in the Protection of Children”
This presentation will help attendees understand the signs and symptoms of child abuse and neglect, including their connection with long-term health outcomes. Attendees will learn about the elements, definitions, and categories of child abuse, as well as how to respond to the disclosure of child abuse. The duties of a mandated reporter, including how to make a report and protections for those who report, will be a primary focus.

11:00 am – 12:30 pm: KEN MONTROSE, Director of Training at Steel Minds Training Academy, Wexford, Pennsylvania
“Working Supportively with Family Members and Significant”
This presentation will help attendees work constructively with families of all sorts. Overcoming blame, setting boundaries, advocacy, balancing family and consumer needs, interventions, and family education will be discussed. Attendees will also learn about harnessing the strength, information, and other resources obtainable from families. Setting boundaries and helping families set boundaries will be a key theme.
