Is scarlet a badge of shame? Passion? Anger? And what might cobalt blue or shimmer-green mean to your reader? Join Judy Montgomery as she explores how color plays a central role in writing poetry (and prose, too!). We’ll look at select poems* by poets local and national to explore how color may be used to deepen, enliven, warn, and above all point your reader toward entering image and symbol, feeling and understanding. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite color, and to bring a small object with their most unfavorite color. We’ll chat, explore, and write in response to the possibilities of color.
