Scammers was a prolific Kansas City musician and fixture of the USA’s basement scene in the 2010’s known for uniquely cynical and vulnerable songwriting, confrontational performances, and consistent placement as the one “kind of normal” thing around the extreme fringes of the experimental music world. He released a dozen albums in this time, with content as varied as an album devoted to Disney’s Aladdin or an album cut entirely from Harry Potter soundtracks. While never quite fitting in, Scammers was always around and out of place, appearing as a headliner of noise festivals, releasing albums on well-known vaporwave labels, sending others to tour as him, and likely sleeping on the floor of the house you lived at it in your early twenties. Scammers disappeared from music in 2017 and traveled the world as a sommelier, eventually running Michelin Starred restaurants in San Francisco before giving up booze and finding his way back to Kansas City. He returns for his first show in 8 years to discuss this and more at Minibar on 8/18/25.
French Kettle Station : French Kettle Station is a one man post-punk synth band that is the brainchild of the prolific Luke Thinnes. Many of the songs that Thinnes creates are ambient and lo-fi sounding, but also often super danceable. Nothing sticks with you like a live performance that pushes boundaries. From Denver, CO.
Tippy from St. Louis opens the show.
