SCAD Summer Workshop Delhi, India: Elements, Organization, Color and Space

SCAD is offering summer workshops in India for high school students to pursue art, design and technology disciplines while working under the guidance of our SCAD professor Margot Ecke. This workshop will help build visual, conceptual and creative abilities essential to a student's creative development. Each day of the workshop is designed to help students utilize visual language, develop creative solutions and respond to art and design. It is intended to help students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to fulfill their artistic potential.

Margot Ecke is a Professor of SCADPro and Foundation Studies at SCAD Atlanta and the owner of Smokey Road Press, a letterpress and bookbinding studio in Decatur, Georgia. She was the Victor Hammer Fellow in the Book Arts at Wells College from 2004-2006 and frequently teaches Book Arts and Printmaking courses at Penland, Arrowmont and Haystack. She has collaborated with poets such as Natasha Tretheway (former Poet Laureate of the United States) on artists books and has worked with artists and designers for over 20 years on projects ranging from broadsides to books to installations and beyond. In addition to printmaking, Ecke is an accomplished furniture maker, quilter and graphic designer. Her work is currently on display at the Seattle Art Museum as part of the Contemporary Pojagi exhibition.
