CALLING ALL BRASS PLAYERS (and lovers of brass music)!!!Yep--it's time once again for Santa Barbara's annual Christmas Brass extravaganza--and we hope you and your students will take part in it!
This year's REHEARSAL AND CONCERT will take place on Saturday, December 13th, and participation is open to ALL brass players (trumpet/cornet, horn, trombone, euphonium, and tuba)!
The REHEARSAL AND CONCERT occur on the SAME DAY, beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a rehearsal for the FULL BRASS CHOIR in the Santa Barbara City College Band Room (DM-105, on the west campus). At around 10:15 a.m. the full Brass Choir rehearsal will finish, and the SBCC Trombone Choir & SB Junior Trombone Choir will rehearse its tunes nearby, while the Tuba Ensemble rehearsal will start up where the full brass choir was located.
Those two rehearsals will wrap up around 11:00, and then everyone will head over to Storke Placita (in the 700 Block of State St. in downtown SB) to play all of their holiday tunes in a FREE CONCERT, starting at 12:00 noon and ending around 2:30 p.m. (the full brass choir first, followed by SBCC Trombone Choir & SB Junior Trombone Choir, followed by the Tuba Ensemble).
SBCC will be providing music stands and music for the performers, and Downtown Santa Barbara will provide chairs for both the performers and audience members.
Again, the full Brass Choir and Tuba Ensemble portions of the rehearsal and concert are open to ANY brass players (of all ages and skill levels), so please pass the word on to your brass-playing friends, relatives, and students who would like to join us that day, please invite them--and tell everyone to dress "Christmas-y!"
