About this Event
Say YES! began as a small circle of Black women daring to make room for their own dreams. What started as a whisper has become a ritual — a space where we breathe deeper, let our shoulders drop, remember who we are, and rise a little taller together.
Three years in, our circle has grown, and this year, thanks to the generous support of:
- Seattle Department of Neighborhoods
- Seattle Office of Arts & Culture
- Central District PDA / McKinney Center
Say YES! is FREE, open-hearted, and beautifully intergenerational.
We are centering Black women in all our sacred forms — aunties and elders, Gen Z baddies and seasoned wisdom keepers, queer and trans sisters, soft girls and strong ones, rooted locals and newly arrived dreamers. The full, brilliant spectrum of us.
And still, all are welcome to join with respect and humility.
Our experience is grounded in the four pillars that guide our work:
Values… Purpose… Well-Being… Joy.
On this day, you can expect to:
- Honor the road that brought you here — not to get stuck in it, but to gather the wisdom you’ve earned
- Release what no longer fits the woman you’re becoming
- Reconnect with your purpose so your vision feels true, aligned, and possible
- Welcome joy and softness back into your body — yes, baby, bubbles included
- Create a vision or intention map that gently points you toward the future you’re ready to claim
This is a space of warmth, guided reflection, unhurried pacing, joy breaks, community energy, and the rare gift of simply being held.
Intergenerational & Community Elements
This year, we’re leaning even deeper into the beauty of community across ages and seasons. We invite you to:
- Bring your grown daughter, your favorite auntie, your godbaby, your mentor, or your treasured elder
- Sit beside someone from a different generation and exchange stories, wisdom, and laughter
- Acknowledge & Celebrate Wins!
- Participate in the intergenerational conversation — weaving gratitude, guidance, and love across the spectrum of Black womanhood
This is a room where legacy sits right beside softness, where truth-telling and joy dance together, and where the fullness of who we are is honored without apology.
Who This Gathering Centers
This space is created with Black women in mind — women who:
- Have held families, communities, workplaces, and dreams on their backs
- Are moving through healing, transition, self-discovery, or rebirth
- Are craving a grounded, heart-led space to vision their next season
- Are ready to choose themselves with intention, grace, and not one ounce of apology
Others are welcome to attend, and we ask that they arrive with deep respect, cultural humility, and a clear understanding of who this gathering is designed to uplift.
