About this Event
The art of improvisation is a playful and tangible skill that can help with public speaking, self-confidence, battling perfectionism and all around creativity. This workshop is open to all levels of creatives whether you’re curious about the art of improv, an improv pro who wants to play, or simply a fan of ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ and just want to try something new and different! Anyone 12 and over are welcome. Say yes, and let’s improv!
Workshops are recommended for people ages 12 and over. Children under 12 years old are welcome with parent/guardian supervision. Please get a ticket for each person (incl. all children).
The workshop is pay what you can! Suggested $20 - $30 to support facilitator fees and supplies.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR:
Trinidadian-Canadian, Priscilla Cherry (she/elle), is a free-spirited social artist as well as a peer support specialist with a passion for people and creative collaborations with equally uplifting energies. Recognizing a representation gap in media and the mental health sector, Priscilla applies her lived experience navigating mental health concerns and combines it with her love for play, creativity and emotional and spiritual healing.
Priscilla is a programmer with CJSW90.9FM and CKUA93.7 FM, the in-game host for Calgary Surge basketball team, and a lead organizer and board member at large with TEDxYYC. Most recently, Priscilla launched her childhood dream of having a live interactive talk show and in April 2023, The Oratory was born.
Priscilla firmly believes in the art of hosting; the power of sharing our lived experiences and personal narratives; and that everyone has something to share that someone else could learn from, relate to or at the very least be curious about.

Alcove Centre for the Arts (alcoveartscentre.ca) is a non-profit organization based in Calgary, AB which aims to make art more accessible and promote a vibrant local arts industry. We curate and cultivate community art spaces for Calgarians to engage in art and creativity while building a platform for emerging local artists.
Alcove is a Recreational Art Space open to the public providing free art supplies and instruments to stimulate creativity. The space also acts as a gathering place for workshops, community events, and social meetups. Come visit and get creative!
