About this Event
What is happening in the Middle East is horrific, tragic, and heartbreaking. The suffering of so many innocent people is beyond comprehension.
In Lebanon, there have been over 3,000 people killed and 1.5 million people displaced. Many are in urgent need of food, medicine, clothing, and essential life-saving items. The situation is indescribable.
When the Port of Beirut explosion occurred, the Dreammind Foundation mobilized volunteers and funds to deliver cargo planes and shipping containers full of urgently needed supplies. We delivered hundreds of thousands of pounds of food and millions of dollars in urgent medicine and supplies to Lebanon.
Now Lebanon needs us more than ever.
On Tuesday, November 5th, the Dreammind Foundation will host a fundraiser at the St. Elias Centre in Ottawa to raise as much money as possible for food, medicine, clothing, blankets, and other urgently needed supplies. Later this week, we will launch a GoFundMe campaign with a goal of raising $200,000.
Every cent raised will go directly to people in affected areas of the country. To ensure maximum impact, we have partnered with organizations like Health Partners International of Canada (HPIC), the only charity licensed by Health Canada to handle donated medicines, and GlobalMedic for relief logistics. Through HPIC, we can obtain $10 worth of medicine for only a dollar, and we are targeting sending some $2 million worth of medicine.
To ensure that these vital supplies reach people quickly, I will be working directly with the Lebanese and neighbouring governments to fly in as many supplies as possible. We will also be donating to Doctors Without Borders to support their heroic work in Lebanon and the region.
We came through for Lebanon before, and we will do so again.
Please help in any way you can—every dollar counts. Through our collective effort, we can provide life-saving aid quickly, efficiently, and effectively.
Let’s all pray for peace and justice in the region for all people and a quick end to this horrific war. Let all the people of the world come together to demand an equitable ceasefire and an end to destruction, death, and war.
