SIMON GRAY PRESENTS OPERA AT SUNSET 2 🌅🎼Following last year’s sell-out performance, Opera at Sunset returns with a brand-new programme celebrating the power, passion and sheer beauty of opera as the sun goes down.
This richly varied evening features arias, duets, ensembles and choruses from some of the world’s most beloved operas — from the great “pops” including Carmen, La Bohème, Turandot, Don Giovanni and The Magic Flute, to stunning lesser-known gems such as Louise, Lakmé, La Fanciulla del West and La Rondine.
The performance brings together a cast of over 30 outstanding opera singers, whose collective credits include Glyndebourne, The Royal Opera, English National Opera, English Festival Opera, Opera Holland Park and Regency Opera — offering an evening of operatic excellence in an unforgettable setting.
The Director and Musical Director is Simon Gray, whose versatile career spans opera, musical theatre and concert work in the UK and abroad. Recent highlights include conducting The Mikado and The Pirates of Penzance at Grim’s Dyke, the former home of W. S. Gilbert; performing in The Maestro — a play about the life of Donizetti — across the UK and in Bergamo, Italy; and concert performances with acclaimed jazz singer Claire Martin.
