We are pleased to invite you to our Students' Debate Competition.

Join us for an engaging and thought-provoking evening as students from QMUL and the Sorbonne go head-to-head in a lively debate. Participants will present their ideas, challenge different perspectives, and demonstrate strong public speaking and critical thinking skills.
The motion for the evening is:
“This House believes that an orderly, civil law system is far superior to the chaos inherent in English common law.”
Be ready to ask question, and expect clear arguments, thoughtful responses, and a balanced discussion of this important legal issue.
The two finalist teams will be judged by legal practitioners, and the debate will be chaired by CCLS academics, ensuring a well-run and insightful event.
Whether you are interested in law, enjoy debate, or simply want to listen, you are very welcome to attend. Come along to support the participants and be part of an open and engaging atmosphere.
Informal drinks will follow at the end of the competition.
