Something exciting is brewing. The Guinn Center is pleased to announce the inaugural Galaween at the Guinn; an adult-only fundraiser benefiting our neighborhood public elementary schools. This ticketed event will include costumes, dancing,
karaoke, live music, a silent auction, and of course – food and drink.
Costumes are encouraged. Cocktail attire for the uninspired.
Our goal is to raise money for the exclusive benefit of the four public elementary schools located in the Greater Seminole Heights Area: Foster, Seminole Heights, Broward, and Edison. Each of these schools are Title 1 schools, meaning a significant percentage of the students qualify for free and reduced lunch.

Every child in the US is promised a free public education. Theoretically, each public school should provide all children with the same educational opportunities and access to resources. Nevertheless, in more affluent communities, school needs are often supplemented by supportive parents with influential community ties. Several of the most sought-after public schools in Hillsborough County bring in close to $500,000 in funding from parent and community contributions. We are advocating for equal support for all schools and aim to address this inequity by rallying the Seminole Heights community to support the schools in their backyards.
The Guinn Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit community center. Our mission is focused on helping nonprofits thrive, small businesses grow, and community members connect. We provide temporary, mixed-use space in a family-friendly environment, along with community programming focused on STEM, the arts, music, gardening, and personal wellness. The Guinn Center is funded by the Guinn Family, grants, private events, and ongoing donations. All proceeds go directly to maintaining the community center property, and no salaries are taken by the staff, as we run fully on volunteer support.
