Sampad and MAC present a family day filled with music, dance, stories, food, craft sessions, and discussion events in association with Purbanat, Gronthee, and Radharaman Society
We welcome people from all walks of life to join us for this community day in celebration of Bangladesh’s rich cultural heritage, to mark the 50th anniversary year of its independence.
Free, Celebrating Together family day 1.30pm to 5pm
With various events throughout the day, there really is something for everyone. Highlights include:
Family and Children Show – 1.30pm to 2pm
Join our artists for a relaxed afternoon of poetry and song, as well as textile arts and crafts.
All day
Look at an exhibition of paintings, photography and textiles and enjoy the special menu for the day at Mac’s KILN restaurant.
Chai & Chat & Poetry – 3pm to 5pm
Readings from Sampad’s My City My Home– writings by women from Birmingham and Bangladesh. Also featuring leading spoken-word artists and poets of Bangladeshi origin. This engaging session will culminate in a panel discussion, accompanied by samosa and tea.
Evening Variety Showcase 5.30pm to 7.30pm, book your tickets!

Performed live in MAC’s beautiful outdoor arena, this promises to be an inspiring end to the festivities. Suitable for families.
