Elspeth Savani has always wanted to do a Maine tour and now the time has finally come! Elspeth grew up in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, but spent most of her adult life on the West Coast pursuing the art of traditional Cuban music and latin jazz. In 2008, Elspeth and pianist Julio Jauregui joined forces to form Savani Latin Jazz, expanding into elements of Brazilian, Peruvian and Argentinian music in addition to both standard and original Cuban repertoire. The quartet has since been showcased all over the Northwest, including at the Earshot Jazz Festival, the Triple Door, and Jazz in the Valley.
Savani Latin Jazz will be joined by members of Maine-based Cuban dance band Primo Cubano for this special performance. Bring your dancing shoes!
