About this Event
Join us Saturday from 2-5 pm!
Join us this Saturday at Manhattan Wine Company for a free tasting as we celebrate two masters of regional restoration from Spain and Italy. These producers have dedicated themselves to reviving historic vineyards and traditional techniques, moving away from modern "international" styles to deliver wines of profound depth, soul, and heritage.
The Wines:
Cims Porrera, 2020 Priorat 'Vi de Vila Porrera' (Spain) Cims Porrera is a cornerstone of the Priorat renaissance, born from a mission to save the village's centenarian Carignan and Grenache vines. Sourced from steep, high-altitude llicorella (slate) slopes, the 'Vi de Vila' is a benchmark of Porrera typicity. Expect a powerful yet poised wine, balancing intense black fruit and Mediterranean spice with the cool, stony minerality that defines this rugged landscape. It is a pure, unadulterated expression of old-vine Priorat.
- $37.99/btl ($34.19 with case discount)
Proprietà Sperino, 2021 Coste della Sesia 'Uvaggio' (Italy) The De Marchi family has played a pivotal role in the "renaissance" of Alto Piemonte. Their 'Uvaggio' is a tribute to the historic blending traditions of Lessona, where Nebbiolo is joined by the indigenous Vespolina and Croatina. Fermented in open-topped wooden vats and aged with meticulous care, it offers an ethereal, "Alpine" alternative to the heavier reds of the south. Silky tannins, bright red currants, and a distinct saline-infused minerality make this a must-have for lovers of traditional Piedmontese elegance.
- $36.99/btl ($33.29 with case discount)
