Join Saturday Club on March 7th, 2026 from 10:30am - 11:30am, for "Bronto-Bugs: Discovering Fossil Insects." Was there ever a cockroach the size of a human hand, or a dragonfly the size of a hawk? Find out in this session as we look at the creepy world of the Pennsylvanian period, the Age of Giant Insects. What environmental conditions allowed these creatures to grow so large? We’ll be employing some life-sized images, so you can see how you’d really measure up to a Meganeura or a palaeodictyopteran. Afterwards you’ll have a chance to create your own ‘fossil’ insect.
Saturday Club is free and open to children ages 7-14. The Tate Geological Museum is located at the southern end of the Casper College campus; look for the life-size T. rex bronze near the Tate or call the museum at 307-268-2447.
