Blown Cones are an Australian alternative rock band known for their gritty sound, wry lyricism, and heartfelt edge. Formed in Melbourne by Michael J. Hager and Andrew Bailey, the band began as a raw, homegrown project that captured the restless energy of suburban creativity — mixing garage rock intensity with melodic experimentation. Tragically, co-founder Andrew Bailey passed away six years ago, leaving behind a lasting influence on the band’s direction and spirit. Today, Blown Cones consist of Michael Hager, Henry Hugo, Mic Muc, and Trevor Bryan Cotton. The current lineup brings together diverse musical backgrounds, blending driving guitars, offbeat rhythms, and introspective songwriting into a sound that’s both familiar and forward-looking. Tracks like “Rabbits,” “High Horse,” and “Anna” showcase their trademark mix of sardonic humor and emotional grit — while new material hints at a broader, more dynamic sonic palette shaped by the band’s evolving chemistry. With their roots deep in Melbourne’s indie scene and their eyes set on new creative horizons, Blown Cones remain committed to the DIY spirit that started it all — honest, and unapologetically real.
Melbourne's own singer/songwriter/guitarist Alison Ferrier with her fabulous band the Upshots; Dave Folley on drums, Alics Gate-Eastley holding down the low end and Jeff Lang on electric guitar. Expect to hear sublime three-part harmonies and influences of folk, blues, country and rock.
