ICD’s Sports and Adventure Camps are fun, multi-sport day programs designed to build confidence, diabetes literacy, and lifelong friendships. Campers of all ability levels enjoy a mix of sports, games, challenges, and mentorship - all while learning real-world diabetes management skills in a supportive, active setting.Each day combines sports drills, field and gym games, carb-counting, and diabetes discussions woven naturally into play. With guidance from our youth leaders and coaches who live with T1D, campers gain independence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

Camps are open to children ages 5–15, with or without type 1 diabetes. Campers ages 13–15 can take part in our integrated leadership development program. Youth 16+ are invited to volunteer and can earn community service hours. Friends and siblings are always welcome!
Camps run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as full-day, drop-off programs. Before and after care may be available.
Participants stay active in multi-age groups, trying new sports and exercises while learning to manage diabetes together. Coaches and peers with T1D share lived experience and practical strategies, creating a fun, empowering environment where kids build self-confidence and communication skills.
Parent Communication
We connect with parents or caregivers at the start and end of each day to share updates and ensure everyone feels confident about the day’s plan. Our team tracks testing, snacks, and insulin doses, and offers helpful insights for ongoing diabetes management when needed.

Diabetes Management
We don’t take diabetes management out of a camper’s hands - we help them feel confident doing it themselves. Our trained team offers structured, individualized guidance for testing, insulin dosing, carb counting, site changes, pump troubleshooting, and more, ensuring every child can participate fully and safely.
Cost $350 per camper per week plus $5.50 processing fee
