About this Event
Discover the world of traditional Japanese mending embroidery and learn Boro mending and Sashiko stitching in this creative and mindful workshop.
Breathe new life into your old or damaged clothes and pick up new hand sewing skills with this fun textile art class. This form of decorative reinforcement repairs tears and makes clothes stronger, warmer and more visually striking.
You will learn about the fascinating history behind Sashiko while creating your own designs. Your teacher will provide a range of stencil templates and plenty of inspiration and tips. This is a great activity for avoiding textile waste and is a fun, creative and meditative way to spend a couple of hours. You will leave the workshop excited to apply your new skills.
All materials provided and you are welcome to bring your own clothes to work on too.
Suitable for beginners. Over 14 only (under 16 accompanied by a paying adult)
