Learn the traditional Japanese technique of repairing textiles through extensive, visible stitching and patching. Sashiko (刺し子) is a versatile Japanese stitching and embroidery technique primarily used to mend, reinforce, and embellish garments.
Boro is a mending technique emphasizing layering and patching.
In this workshop you will learn the basic techniques of both so that you can work on your own garment or mend items in the future.
Please bring along your own item if you have something you would like to mend, other materials will be provided.
A hot drink and all materials provided. For ages 12+ (under 16s must be accompanied)
