Join us for our 7th session of the Syracuse Actors Studio entitled, "Creating Your Own Content" led by our cofounder, renowned local actress Laura Stisser. Laura is not only an incredible actor but also is mastering the art of marketing herself to the next level of casting and wants to share tips & anecdotes with us as well as shoot a demo scene for the group with studio member David Gilmore to demonstrate the craft. We are also lucky to have award-winning local filmmaker James Marlowe to DP.After Laura will also lead us in a fun exercise to stretch our acting muscles with a gender swap of famous scenes. Every actor or actress who attends will get to perform. Also SAS is completely welcoming of all genders and any person may choose which gender they would like to perform as.
Also- monologues are back! Actress Anqi Geng will be joining us again with a prepared monologue, along with a new member Donna Stuccio performing a self-written work. Samuel Tamburo will be doing a Shakespearean. Perry Singleton will do a monologue from a short play. (Update: Joe overbooked the monologues so we hope to have time for impromptu volunteers but might not. We try to make this segment a part of every session so we need volunteers for future sessions. Talk to Joe if interested.)
We will meet at 7 in the studio to socialize until we begin. Someone will be in the lobby to greet you until around 7:15. Anyone locked out please call/text Joe Cunningham 315-863-9407.
Syracuse Actors Studio is a free monthly meetup for actors where we learn from and practice acting with each other. Actors of all experience levels are encouraged to attend!
Street parking is free at that time.
There will be a hat out for donations for our host, Safe Space CNY at the end if anyone would like to support.
So excited! See you then.
