P&T Knitwear is pleased to welcome Sarah Stone to celebrate and discuss her new book, Marriage to the Sea; a novella in which a Jewish family of artists and activists navigate the eco-crisis, political turmoil, personal losses, and the afterlife.

Sarah will be joined in conversation by Ann Packer, author of , and Joan Silber, author of . Along with a discussion and audience Q&A, Sarah will also sign copies of her book.


Both tickets and books are available on eventbrite and at the door. Doors open at 6:30pm with the talk starting closer to 7pm.


ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Sarah Stone is the author of Marriage to the Sea (Four Way Books, March 2026), Hungry Ghost Theater (a finalist for the 38th annual Northern California Book Awards), and The True Sources of the Nile, as well as co-author, with Ron Nyren, of Deepening Fiction: A Practical Guide for Intermediate and Advanced Writers. Sarah’s work has appeared in Image, Ploughshares, Necessary Fiction, 100 Word Story, StoryQuarterly, The Millions, Scoundrel Time, The Believer, CRAFT, Alta Journal online for the California Book Club, and A Kite in the Wind: Fiction Writers on Their Craft. Her writing was included in the list of distinguished stories of 2020 in The Best American Short Stories 2021 edited by Jesmyn Ward.

Ann Packer is the author of the novels Some Bright Nowhere, The Children’s Crusade, Songs Without Words, and The Dive from Clausen’s Pier. Her short fiction has been published in two collections — Mendocino and Other Stories and Swim Back to Me — and includes stories that appeared in The New Yorker and in the O. Henry Prize Stories anthologies. Ann’s work has been translated into over a dozen languages and published around the world. She divides her time among New York City, the Bay Area, and Maine.

Joan Silber is the author of ten books of fiction, most recently the novel, Mercy. Improvement won the National Book Critics’ Circle Award and the PEN/Faulkner Award. Her stories have appeared in The New Yorker and other magazines, and she’s received the PEN/Malamud Award for Excellence in the Short Story. She taught for many years at Sarah Lawrence College and in the Warren Wilson MFA Program. She lives on the Lower East Side and often strolls into this store with her dog, Jolie.

  • Books will be available for purchase at the event.

  • The talk will be followed by a book signing. Books signed at P&T Knitwear events must be purchased from P&T Knitwear.
