Readers can wet their whistles with (Ten Speed Graphic) the newest book from Sarah Becan, co-author of the popular Let’s Make series. With vivid, easy-to-follow graphics, Becan guides readers through basic techniques such as shaking, stirring, muddling, and more. explores the origins, traditions, and popular legends surrounding foundational cocktails, including fun tidbits on drink accompaniments and occasions. Followed by a book signing. This is a free, ticketed event.

Getting here: We are located at 1620 Orrington Avenue, in downtown Evanston, just one block east of the Davis Street Metra and CTA public transit stops. There is metered street parking as well as numerous parking garages nearby.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR Sarah Becan is a comics artist, author, illustrator, and designer based in Chicago, as well as the creator of I Think You're Sauceome, a food-centric autobiographical webcomic. She illustrated the cookbook The Adventures of Fat Rice and is the co-author and illustrator of and Her work has appeared in various publications, including Saveur, Eater, Organic Life, StarChefs, and Tasting Table.

About the Book: With chapters organized by spirit for easy access, readers will delight in the panelized step-by-step comic instructions for crafting a proper Gin or Vodka Martini, a refreshing Mojito, an eye-opening Bloody Mary, and more.
