Rescheduled Event: March 8th 2025Hey All!! We’re going to double dip in the celebration and fun while honoring two amazing group members who have helped build the Florida Paddling Community over many years!
Ready to make a difference and help keep our beautiful state and waterways clean, while celebrating the birthdays of some paddle community living legends?! Join us as we come together in honor of Jo Carver and Charlie McCarron for a Santa Fe River Clean up Paddle!
Our main focus will be the Santa Fe River Clean Up to be held on Saturday March 8th, 2025 in High Springs, FL however we will camp in the area and have a pot luck style dinner after the paddle to celebrate these distinguished gentleman! Pot luck will help be coordinated by Susan Howard our resident chef! To build up the fun, we’re going to have a Golden Girls (and Golden Guys) themed pot luck event as our friend Charlie McCarron has finally reached senior citizen status! So grab your walkers, canes, dusty old lady wigs or high wasted suspender pants to stroll around the pot luck dinner in!
We’d also like to thank our friends with Keep Florida Beautiful who have supplied our group with some clean up gear such as grabbers, gloves, and bags, but if you have your own tools, mesh bags, or other safety gear that will aid in the cleanup we encourage you to bring it. The last time we ran this event we collected 452 lbs of trash off the river!!
We’ll supply hot coffee, donuts, and have prize(s) for those who collect the most trash from the river! Our best dressed Golden Girl or Guy will also walk away with bragging rights and a little something to remember the occasion by!
Many of us will be staying in the area (camping and/or hotels) so keep an eye out for those details and join us as we make a weekend of fun out on the Santa Fe River!
