[EN]Reading Practice brings together artists Michael Bekele, Sandy Harry Ceesay and Liza Tegel, all working with text, voice, and body, in a shared exploration of reading as both action and event.
Through readings, repetitions, displacements, and embodiment, it investigates how text can perform and how the body can read. The title points to both practice and unlearning. Something that happens in motion, in real time, in what has yet to take shape.
The evening takes place beyond the traditional stage. In the foyer of MDT, between rooms, in the spaces that are usually not considered stage. An in process format where practices and works can be shared before they solidify, before they are finished. Here, process, hesitation, possibility, and gaps are allowed to show themselves.
The space is activated as a field where language and bodies can linger, get stuck, drift apart, and come together again. Reading does not need to be linear or silent; it emerges between the author and their audience, in what is constantly in the process of taking form.

Reading Practice samlar konstnärer Michael Bekele, Sandy Harry Ceesay och Liza Tegel som arbetar med text, röst och kropp i ett gemensamt utforskande av läsning som både handling och händelse. Genom läsningar, upprepningar, förskjutningar och förkroppsliganden undersöks hur text kan uppträda och hur kroppen kan läsa.
Titeln antyder både övning och avlärning. Något som sker i rörelse, i realtid, i det som ännu inte har funnit form.
Kvällen utspelar sig bortom den traditionella scenen. I foajén, mellan rummen, i det som vanligtvis inte är scen.
Ett utforskande format där praktiker och arbeten kan delas innan de stelnar, innan de blir färdiga. Här får process, tvekan, möjligheter och glapp synas.
Rummet aktiveras som ett öppet fält där språk och kroppar kan dröja, haka upp sig, glida isär och mötas på nytt. Läsning behöver inte vara linjär eller tyst; den uppstår i mötet mellan författaren och lyssnaren, i det som är konstant på väg att ta form.

Sandy Harry Ceesay (f. 1995) är en interdisciplinär konstnär och publicerad författare baserad i Stockholm, Sverige. Hen tog examen 2020 från Amsterdams universitet för konst (kandidatexamen i modern dansteater).
