About this Event
Sandy Diamond was a much loved Bay Area calligrapher and writer. This is the first (and possibly only) public showing of her work since her passing in 2016.
There are over 100 pieces on display, from one of a kind originals to highly affordable prints as low as $10.
The exhibit is at The Writers Grotto, a private membership based club that will open its doors to the public for this unique show. Many of the quotes she calligraphed over the years explore writing and the creative process, which made the Grotto the perfect venue for this showing.
This is a special opportunity to find gifts for loved ones who are activists, poets, writers, dancers, gardeners, rebels, naturalists, romantics, lovers, minimalists, buddhists, musicians, and healers. She was an avid reader and found unusual quotes and calligraphed them in unique ways that will bless up your walls.
She was a longtime member of The Friends Of Calligraphy and studied with masters such as Alan Blackman, Thomas Ingmier, and William Stuart.
Her son Gabriel Diamond will perform a short monologue adapted from her memorial service, and Susan Ito and Candice Holdorf will read short excerpts from her writings.
